    Default Lowering without coilovers

I'm also doing this conversion on a KE55 but don't need to use coilovers. I'm now using RT132 struts, TA22 King lowered springs, the original Corolla top spring perch and bearing plate. I've shortened my strut by 30mm and I'm just using a TA22 insert which is the exact length without having to use spacers.

The car isn't on the road so I can't comment on handling however strut and LCA position are within the engineers guide lines.

Hope its of help to someone.

Just an fyi which I'm not sure has been said already...

.... I can confirm that the HPC brake upgrade DOES fit inside Ma61 wheels.
Id post pics but I'm using my mobile phone.

I'll also update with more info relevant to fitting in Ke70 when I get around to it.

I've read around various places that the PS arm causes the rotor to hit the control arm. Certainly seems to be this way in my test fit.

There looks like there could be enough meat to give the edge of the control arm a bit of a bash in, I could probably gain about 4-5mm, not sure its enough though.

Just wondering if anyone else has successfully run this combo? If so how?
I'm running t3 steering arms but had to use a nrca to clear my control arm even with the the lip ground off.
Using a xt130 and a normal rca would probably work and is what I will eventually change to, either that or I will lengthen and brace my standard control arms.

This may not be much help to anyone now but, I can advise that on my RA23, I'm running RT132 struts with the C/P/H conversion, with LN106 calipers, and T3 negative camber RCA's on stock LCA's, all under MA61 14 x 7 inch rims. I looked at MA70 M/C's at the time, years ago now, and settled on my original M/C bored out from 13/16 to 15/16 and re-kited with new seals etc. Everything is beautiful under there, and without adj. camber/caster tops I can run 3 degrees of negative camber and 1.5 degrees positive castor. Nothing rubs or fouls at all. The guards are lipped and you need to be careful with how wide you your rubber on your rims is, but that is no big deal. It handles beautifully. Thanks to George and everyone else who has contributed to this thread, its one of the best ones on here.

I'm running Koni's listed replacement for the RA23/28/40, the 86-1991, if I remember the part number correctly. It fits the RT132 strut perfectly, with no need to shim/space it. I had to buy different gland nuts from the ones supplied with the shocks, Koni part number 077 rings a vague bell. Shocks are internally adjustable, which is a PITA, you have to disassemble the strut to adjust it. I have Lovells low springs on the thing as well.

Just a quick one, I have just completed the conversion with RT132 struts, pegeout slotted rotors and hilux calipers. Apart from having to space the calipers back 1mm I have fitted a set of nissan skyline pads, RDA brand part number is RDB1170sm and they fit perfectly. this allows for many different quality pads, from cheap to race series

Nice work Dave. Did you buy the Pug rotors already slotted (and if so, where from please?) or have that done after you go them?
    Thanks.

My coilovers arrived and I want to start the conversion to my RA40, But first I have a few questions.

It's suggested that if you use the Tokico HTS102 shock you shorten the strut by 50mm and add a 20mm spacer in the bottom. I don't think anyone would know but I'll ask anyways. If I use Tokico BZ3125 shocks, Should I still follow the same method or will the measurements be different? Only asking if someone has done this using these shocks and knows they are the same length as I know its a very specific question. I can't find measurements for both shocks on the interwebs.

The other question is, If I'm not racing the car or pushing it too hard do I need the yellow retainer springs?

Whats the best method for cutting the struts straight? A pipe cutter?

    That is all for now...
