thats not what i meant.
even when you cut down the tube the insert is still spaced, ive seen it mentioned a couple of times in this thread, but never read why.
the struts in my 23 (which i didnt make) have a 15mm spacer under them (which is about 20mm in diameter and solid) and i cant see why. why not just cut another 15mm out of the tube?
like i say, the only reason i can see is because the shape of the bottom of the insert is going to fowl on the bottom of the inside of the strut tube.
