jonra23 they look like the Fulcrum coil over bits to me but I'm sure takai will be able to confirm / deny that!

There are two spings, the little one on the bottom is the helper spring to keep the main spring captive at full droop. Oh and they are also in both pics on the car too

Because my car is quite low, i have tender springs to allow for the extra movement when it manages to cock a leg (normally off the ripple strips). The sleeves are from Fulcrum as wilbo rightly has suggested, and can be sourced at any of the Fulcrum distributors.

ahhhhhh...so its just a real soft spring to keep it all allinged when you lift a wheel!

Yep, those tender springs are aroudn 1kg/mm and since they are under compression when the car has all 4 wheels on the ground it makes no difference to the effective spring rates.

btw to anyone looking at getting the coilover kit for the corona strut....

the tube diametre is 51mm or 2 inch

going out this arvo to have a look at a kit (not to buy just yet tho....)

Takai, I'm led to beleive that cut and shut on any cast suspension component is illegal for engineering purposes on a street driven vehicle. I know you aren't an authority, but are you able to give an indication of the legality of welding to suspension components without cutting (like the addition of the locator on your struts)?

Maybe now is the time to seed the shortening vs. spacing shorter stroke inserts...

The strut tubes aren't cast so I cannot see it being an issue

Yeah, as wilbo says the strut tubes arnt a cast item so its not an issue. From personal experience ACT rego (Dickson) have passed my car with that suspension setup, and all was fine with them, so long as the caliper brackets (the cast parts of the strut) wernt cut and shut. They cared all of SFA about the coilovers (except that i had very hard springs in there).

ACT rego were more concerned about the fact that i was securing my brake lines with zipties to the strut (the on strut mounts were cut off. Strangely enough they were more happy when there wernt zipties at all and the lines were just hanging there.

Ooops- my bad An engineering student shouldn't stuff that up... Then again, an engineering student should actually pull the car apart and see for himself rather than relying on the power of the intahnet! Poor celica's been in one piece for too long!

for the wheel bearings?....call repco, there bout $30-40 per kit...per side!

Which is hugely cheap. The bearings for the Cressida are around $200 per corner.
