I doubt it, i certainly didnt. I remember it was close, but not that bad. The dust shield definately had to go though.
enough of a lip on the LCA that you could grind a smidge to get the clearance?

Interesting, mine sat 3-4mm higher with that lip actually inside the hat. could it be because you havnt bolted up the steering arm? Looking back at my pictures i only fitted the hubs after i had bolted the strut up.

hmm perhaps, i dont think so, but ill try that now
Im guessing this is into a spoontah? Can you use an alternate LCA? Such as xt130?Or do they have the same problem?
LCA's for TA22, RA23/28, and RT132/XT130, are exactly the same length, the end shape "may" be different.Originally Posted by cuzzo

yup in a spoonter. if i have to change LCA id rather just run RCAs.
takai- i tried bolting the strut on 1st and then the hub/disk, still no love. i even persuaded the lip of the LCA back a bit but its still very close and touches when i turn?
edit: i mean touches when i turn the steering wheel, not when i turn the disk.

What hub, and bearings did you use?
cheers Chuck.

xt130strut and hub, with new xt130 bearings. i checked the old bearings against the new as i was installing them and they looked like the right ones.
That was my exact setup.

just put my setup back together (its on the shelf in the garage)
all i can think off is the ball joint isnt bolted to the knuckle properly (looks to be at a weird angle?) ???
or its to do with the steering knuckle offset.
Looking at mine i cant see anyway to make the LCA contact the disc sitting there???
