Removing PCV

just a quick question regarding the removal of the pcv

Is it just a push on fitting? or is it a screw on? I don't have much room in there to get my hands, (intake manifold in the way) so i don't know what i'm trying to do exactly.

It's on a 4Sfe engine, very similar to 3s and 5sfe

It should look like a simple boring ~2cm round rubber tube with a plastic piece in the middle. It should come from the head and lead to the inlet manifold or air cleaner - before the throttle plate.

I havent seen the unit on the S motors but I cant imagine they're any different to any other engine.

Its pretty difficult to get out as the outta grommet thing is actually plastic and not rubber. But yes you just pull it out while wiggleing it around and swearing at it.

yeh i found it, but i can't work out if it's threaded onto the engine, or if it's just a sort of push fitting.

I don't want to pull it if it's threaded, and i can't get it to rotate 360 degrees, as it hits the inlet manifold.

Also, before i completely rip it apart and wreck it, can i get this part from super cheap auto or somewhere like that?

The engine will still run if you brake it so dont stress too much. Just remember to block off the hose back to the inlet if you brake it.

managed to get it out, had a look, and the valve was moving freely. Stuffed some throttle body cleaner and inox into it anyway, gave it a bit of a clean, as i didn't think it needed replacing.

Thanks guys...i guess iacv is the only thing left... is it easy to get it out on a 5sfe? I dont' want to remove the whole intake manifold, i'm hoping i can get just the throttle body off?

Anyone have any experience? probably similar to 3sfe as well
