I can supply pistons for $310 posted. Brand new genuines. std bore size
If you end up pulling this motor down check current bore size. Most of the time the 18r bores are very tough so the bore doesnt ware much. A good bottle brush hone will make them look like new again.

My answer for the first post in this thread,
If the history of the engine is unknown to you then take that as it comes,
dont use the engine until you have the time and the money to do a total rebuild, once its
running, you have your own peice of mind that your engine is brand new. then you don't
have to worry about what might go wrong with in the near because of what the previous owner may or may not have done.
I recently bought an 18RG from another toymods member (shouts to ya BTW) on here
I asked him the history of it, it wasnt fully known, how it was treated or used etc.
I accepted that and still bought it, I too could have made the same post as to the condition
of it, (after it was pulled down ) but that would be unnessecary. I dont think its really a case
of buyer beware. your buying and old engine, dont expect to much at all otherwise you'll
set yourself up for a disapointment.
edit:
the RG i bought was worse than what you illustrated,
No. 4 piston cracked/burned
nasty ridge in no4 bore
carbon build up on the pistons so thick you wonder if valves hit pistons.
cam sprockets unusable
etc etc ....
