    Default Urgent: 4afc timingbelt markers

    Hi guys,
Snapped the timing belt in the ae92 the other day,
Just working on replacing it now, and struck a problem,
We need to line the new belt up, but ... there are no markers on the actual belt (either the new one, or the one that was on there), and we cant find any markers on the actual cam pulley either...
Anyone got ideas/suggestions/just want to give me shit for forgetting something really obvious...

im pretty sure there is a mark on the cam pulley. acutally i havent done one for a few months, maybe there are two marks on the rocker cover, and when your looking straight at the cam gear, the keyway should be at the top and the top 'spoke' would be directly between the two marks on the rocker cover. i dont have a 4afc however so this is just going by memory. all else fails take the rocker cover off, and move the cam around till its rocking on number 4, this means its about to fire on number 1.

There's two dots on the cam pulley, I'm pretty sure they both line up to TDC, by memory they say 2A near the dot somewhere. I forget how to tell if the crank pulley is at TDC but you shouldn't have had a problem with that anyway since you could just take the harmonic balancer off while it's at TDC
You can also check on the dizzy, take off the cap and see where abouts the rotor button is pointing to when you line each dot up just to be sure it's on TDC.. it'll be just before cylinder 1 I think? Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong there

edit: and I think the mark to line it up with is either on the rear timing cover, or maybe a notch on the rocker cover? Should be obvious enough
