1G-GTE P/steer pumps - same as 7M-GE?

hi folks,

am trying to locate a power steer pump for a '89 GA70 owner in Brisbane (long story)...

It's a manual 1GGTE - was making some screeching/scratching sounds and then a friendly mechanic decided to drain and replace the fluid and then not bleed the system (and he's a bit worried they used the wrong fluid as well) - so sounds from the pump became 100%

I'm heading outside now to take pics of my 7mge pump now (assuming i dont get rained on) but has anyone had the opportunity to compare 7MGE and 1GGTE pumps?

long-shot: would a lexus 1GFE pump be similarly mounted/connected compared to the 1GGTE/1GGE ?

the GA70 owner has been quoted an excessive price from Repco to reco the unit - i think a 2nd-hand working will be sufficient and reasonably priced.

I might have a GA70 pump if your mate is interested, otherwise I can make a quick visual comparison to it and the one in my MX83.
