Default Font size on "title" screens

Just wondering if the font size on the pages showing the sections & thread titles could be made smaller?

I really like the idea on the old forum of more thread titles being able to be seen at once. Less scrolling is needed then.
Once a couple of sticky's are shown at the top of each section, the "normal" threads are off the bottom of the screen.

A quick look at it tells me that it's not the font size that's making it big, it's just the layout.
There's a lot of padding in the rows. We can have a go at removing it or making it smaller.

I removed some of the padding.

Is that better? What resolution are you browsing in?

    Cool.

I'm not too sure I like it to tell the truth but if everyone else does then I have no complaints. I'm just a little concerned thatt he front page looks too congested.

I'm thinking it might be worth looking for a way to spread the front page out a bit more. On the other hand it's nice to see the calendar when you first log on.

yeah it does look a little congested, but its better than being massively spaced out like most other forums. I hate having to scroll just to see all the sections.

Personally i would like to see the Calendar of upcoming events up the top. Otherwise people might not even realise the calendar exists!! I want us all to use the calendar for virtually anything on the toymods calendar, and i will also use the calendar for any other events of noteworthyness.... my idea behind this is that someone finding Toymods for the first time can clearly see the calendar and get an INSTANT feel for what the club and greater community does on a regular basis. A packed calendar looks AWESOME to the general public!!

Anyway - back to the forum front page layout...maybe a few less words on the descriptions of each section, or a bigger differential between the title and the description...... either size/font/colours.....

Well I just editted the template to put the calendar at the top of the page above the forum listings. It doesn't look the greatest there but it sure makes it apparent. What do we think of having it there. The calendar is collapsable which I think is what will end up happening if we leave it at the top of the page, people will just collapse it and never look again. Of course I can disable the button but I'm not too sure I want to.

So far i like it there Josh.
Perhaps when Rob gets working on making the froums and website look pretty he can do something to make it clear and forceably visible to all, and maybe not look so ugly as you suggest.

Personally i dont think it's ugly - it's clearly separate from the forums themselves, yet apparent that they are upcoming events. This is precisely what i want, as stated in oldcorolla's thread.... it will hopefully make people more aware that this is a club as well as an internet forum.
