On mine the black/orange wiring is hooked up to one side of each coil which I believe runs back to the ignitor. Its been a while since I've had a look, If I can I'll check it out tonight.
Hey all,
Does anyone know where the black and orange wires from the 1JZ factory ignitor box need to be connected to?
Do they need to go to the ignition or are they positive or negitive wires that need to go back to the battery?

Black with Orange stripe is almost always ignition power supply (IG2), especially on things like coils and ignitors.
How many B-O wires do you have on this ignitor? There should only be one that's power supply, on the 4pin plug (what's the 1JZ out of?).

Neglect the coil output and computer input on the left side, the 4 pin plug will tell you what those wires are:

hehe oopps deleted that bit, as follows:
1. Tacho output
2.+12V switched
3. Not used (IGF)
4. Ground
IGF is used in factory engine management.

Yeah thanks for that Mos, the picture above is for a Haltech setup.
hey boys thanks for the info so far, there is a black/orange wire coming from each coil and then they merge into 1 wire, ive tried wiring it up to the ignition, the car kicks over but then dies straight away so im not sure thats it
its fuel pump probably if it runs then stops
get some aerostart and try runin it on it
if it runs i guess yr fuel pump aint runnin
Aerostart is not good for engines

only way its not good is when engine backfires and singes half your arm hairs offff
I have been told it can cause unneeded wear on rings etc.Originally Posted by ChuckLandwehr
I personaly would prefer to just use fuel for diagnoses
just spray a lil fuel into intake instead of using aerostart.
I only use aerostart on diesel's that won't start due to glow plugs that don't work etc. that you need to get going straight away.

no fuel pump is fine. I'm thinking it's more of an ignition problem, going to check all the wires tomorrow and going to make sure cam and crank sensors are all wired up properly but still need to know where to hook up that black and orange wire.
