hey guys... is there neway to adjust the idles on the 20v?? atm the engine idles around 600/700 and its pretty shakey, and its starting to bug me. So i'm wondering if this is what its supposed to idle at, and if there is any way to bump it up a bit soo that it runs a bit smoother.
thanks

idle speed should be around 880 rpm and also check the ISC
is the engine only new to the car? mine had the same problem, and i drove it round for a week or so and the computer learnt to deal with it. if you reset the computer (disconnect battery) it starts again tho!
Mine used to gum up around the butterflies. Every 3 months or so, I'd pull the lid off the airbox, remove the trumpets and give it a good spray with carbie cleaner. Then it would ilde again for a few months.
if that happens you need an oil catch can
however with your laws you guys cant run a proper one![]()
The po-po dont care if it's plumbed back into the intake (as far as i know), just so long as it's not venting to atmosphere.Originally Posted by Mr Revhead

...... butt scratcher?!
yeah thats the best you can do there i spose.
iv found the 20v to be very sensitive to intake fumes.
btw what grade fuel you running in it?
I was running on optimax, with a catch can (shh - don't tell anyone).
The inlet ports were spotless, I just used to get a deposit around the butterflies...
Before doing any of the above I would check for vacuum leaks.
yes very good idea, theres quite a few vacuum lines on the ITBs
