    Default AE92 Master Cylinder Upgrade?

After reading the whole TIO thread and not coming up with a single master cylinder upgrade for the AE92, I thought someone might know of a toyota or non-toyota interchangable part.

The upgrade is for an AE92 with the superstrut twin piston callipers on the front, out of an AE101, and also the bigger rear AE101 discs. Now at the moment I am still using the proportioning valve off the original drum rear end the car came with. I'm assuming that replacing this with a vavle off a disc rear end like the SX or possibly an AE92 levin or AE101, maybe even something newer like a AE112.

When the car is pulled up with light brake the distribution is quite good, however under hard braking the front plunges alot. In addition to the bias I did want to move more fluid in general so does anyone know of an AE92 MC upgrade?

I don't know of a replacement, but i'd recommend just going with the sx/gti mc; the superstrut twins and rears have the same piston area as the ae92s so the setup uses the same amount of fluid. It also means you'll retain the factory pedal travel and bias. I don't think you'll want a bigger mc, as you'll get less travel and feel.

That's what i'm running and i'm pretty happy with it, it cops a hiding on the track quite well.

Yup, another vote here for the stock SX master. Works perfectly.

i do know that the AE101 GT-Z master cylinder (mated with superstrut brakes) is larger than the AE101 4afe master cylinder.

From memory it went from 13/16" to 7/8" bore, and the AE101 4afe had vented brakes about the size of series 1 sx brakes from memory....

sorry for digging up an old thread.....

I keep reading i need to change the proportioning valve on the AE94 sedan. i am runnning Series 2 front discs, and Disc Rear end. and the AE93SX Master Cylinder.

My question is... where is the Proportioning valve????

i thought it was located internally on the master cylinder.

    any help appreciated.

On the fire wall, should be in the left hand side as you sit in the drivers seat, half way down, just follow the brake lines
