    just to clarify, i recived correspondance back from toyota japan (they sent me the 4agze engine manual!) and thought i would share it here incase anyone searches this again.

    piston to bore clearance is 0.12-0.14mm and it is measured 8mm above the centerline of the gudgeon pins at right angles to them. all came from the toyota engine manual which was all in japenese!

    you cant order that manual!
