    Default 4agte turbo water feed/return

just about to start routing the coolant lines for the turbo, and was wondering where i should pick up and return the water for the turbo?

i was thinking about removing the sensor for the stock temp gauge for the feed, shown here above the atlernator, the pinky sensor.

and for the return, there is a fitting i could take out of the remote thermostat housing, in the line that connects to the bottom of the radiator.

hows that sound? it doesnt matter which way water flows through the turbo does it (gt28/71r)?

Cool Re: 4agte turbo water feed/return

Most Toyota's have coolant running to the EGR, and or the throttlebody.
If the 4A has the same, then you should disconnect that & use them. They are 5/16" generally. I've never seen a water cooled turbo that didn't use, or could use 5/16" barbs on it.

Also, you don't have to use the coolant hookups on any water cooler turbo. It's nice to have, but don't go killing yourself if you don't have an easy way to do it. If you can do it, go for it, if not skip it. Just remember to let it cool down after long cruises, or hard running so you don't crack the housings.
