and the purpose is not for more strength, it is to reduce machining steps...
the strength part was by using different alloys..... they already use "cost effective" alloys, and there are many better ones... but like everything it is about cheapest possible effective product.

Yes but as i said, i had to find the file, was trying to workout how to get it from PDF formate to show you on here. If i had that web page would have been much easyer.lolOriginally Posted by oldcorollas
i had to copy lines at a time and paste it together just to get the small bit of the article above as its a small section of a pdf with other stuff that isnt about rods!
Da Horse piss of wanker i did quote, i always show if it isnt my words unless its an over sight. Unlike you, my car knowledge isnt 99.9% internet and magazine knowledge.

as you can see not much relevent to rods but the main aticle i wanted to but in did!
I dont know why i bother sometimes. No if someone can tell me how to covert the clipboard snap shot into a file that can be uploaded and veiwed it will save me time next time!

still.. fracture split is for cost saving...
I beam is for F1...
both I beam and H beam aftermarket rods are better than stock
ibeam with a more triangular base is what i would choose, but the debate about which is better has been going on for many years with no clear winner (and much heresay.. ie I beam is not good for high rpm etc)
use "prt scr" or whatever button, then paste into a imaging program.. then save as jpeg.. then upload...
