hi this post is in relation to another post i posted last night (check the link below)

First of all... i understand that if you have been getting these questions from alot of people that that would be starting to get frustrating.
However, how about a bit of understanding .... as i said i've been using these forums for many many years and went through all the authorisation stuff and waited payiently before i could post at all with the new forums .... is it not possible to understand my frustration... can we not look at it from both perspectives?
and then for everyone to go out and give me all these negative feedbacks.... isn't that a bit immature.... are we not adults?

Anyway.... the point of my post was to find out what i have to do to be able to post something for sale..... Maybe the answer is that i have to figure it out myself and spend ages going through something to find out.
It wouldn't really have been that hard to just reply with a link to wherever the information is.
A bit similar to people replying to items for sale saying "oh if i had the money, i'd buy it". a completely wasted post... they're not going to buy it. if you think it's a nice car... say, "nice car, i hope you have good luck with the sale".... should we be going out giving those annoying posters' negative rep too?

my point overall here is that i can understand that my post may have been frustrating due to a lot of people asking the same question (WHICH I AM TOTALLY UNAWARE OF) but i think it's unfair to not understand where i'm coming from ... especially when i just wanted an answer. and the whole negative rep thing is just plain silly..... coz i asked a question that people didn't like!? i havn't been swearing at people and abusing them and i never have... that would deserve negative rep and i agree with the system for that.

Yes you copped the neg rep stick, but to put it bluntly, if you had of searched or actually thought, the answer was already infront of you.

I'm quite happy and very unstressed. However, judging by your post and language it appears that your are not.

Sure, we could of posted a link... but there are stickys with this information, there is a FAQ, there is a search function, there is the feedback section for these questions/answers, and finally all users when they join are informed to check the FAQ and learn/understand the forum rules. Out of respect for the forums, the least we should expect is for people to read the FAQ and understand our rules - it's not a hard or demanding task and is quite within reason.

But hey, some people just don't read or care so we must now give them links and hold their hands and spoon feed them? And we do the same for the next person who comes in and asks the same question... and the next.. and the next.. and so on?

He's not the first to feel like a tool and won't be the last. If he posts some good information then the rep points will come back. And, as +ve rep is usually double that of -ve rep it will come back very quickly. I am not ashamed by my comments and actions in this regard.

Your comment about "lending a hand" is undefensible as we all work together to provide assistance and knowledge wherever possible, and you know that's true. However, we aren't in kindergarten and there is the minimal expectation that a user (especially one that says they've been on Toymods for years) at least reads the FAQs, does some searches and other basic functions before they shoot themselves with unnecessary (and time wasting) questions.

If Bexi had not of said he'd been here for years and then mock the "crap" he had to go through to get onto these forums then I would of cut him some slack. I did not only -ve rep, but also posted why I was doing so and (as always) I leave me name on my rep comments. If this is being a keyboard warrior then so be it - but at least I'm not an anonymous one.

Chris_85, you're opinions are as worthy as anyone else here - whether you have 20rep or 2000rep. Furthermore, it's not the point of someone being shot down for asking a simple question - it's more being shot down for asking the most basic question that relates to the founding rules of how this forum is run.

Bexi, I'm sure you've checked the FAQ now and understand what is required for you to post items for sale in these forums. I look forward to some technical articles, curly technical questions or even some wit and humour from you so that you may receive some +ve rep. You're not the first person to start here going backwards, but like others I am sure you will get your points back and advance from there.

There have been many posts in the past where people have asked a repeat question and have had -40rep handed to them from 30 different people which then went on to rant about how big a tool the poster was. It would be much quicker if you pointed them in the right direction or even posted up an answer to their question and tell them to perform a search next time as i have done in the past.

Not only does it make them a little bit more welcome but it doesn't give the club a bad image as a bunch of tossers who love to neg rep noobies
