Nice, I was actually thinking about this last night.

I propose to create a wookie group who does not have rights to interact with the classifieds. The only problem with that is if they have for sale threads running then they're going to go dead.

Actually I can probably make it so that they can't start any threads, can't reply to any threads, can't read other peoples threads but can read their own threads. That way they'd be able to see if people are trying to find out where the things they orderred are.

I see the problem you've raised, but if they have done something that has landed them on probation/-ve rep points, then do they deserve to be able to check their own for sale threads?

I see this forum being set up like a drivers license.
Its something you earn, a priviledge, not a right.
You screw up, you lose those priviledges.

Yeah my concern isn't for the people who do the wrong thing it's for anyone else who is buying things off them etc.

The example I was thinking of was if someone pays for something and the person selling it then no longer has access to the thread.

I'll think it through and see what we come up with.

Surely by then it would have been moved to PM's, but I suppose you can't expect everyone to do that.

I think what you suggested up above is the best solution thus far.

could you limit the Wookie posting rights to only read and reply to threads they have already posted in? means they can't do any more harm than they have already, and gives them a chance to redeem themselves on issues where they have farked up... ie by earning a couple of rep points by being a good little toad...
but then again, having neg points is pretty bad, and it's probably easier to maintain if there is just one wookie class, rather than "partial" and "ultra" wookie classes..

"I am a Toymods Wookie" is going to show beneath their name right?
