WTF is this buzzing thing on my 1JZ?????

i dont know what this is but it makes a buzzing sound a few minutes after engine stops.

yes it has both but the alarm is turned off cause its broken an ghey seems to have something to do with the heaters or water.

im pretty sure the charcoal canister is at the front and looks like a "normal" charcoal canister.
it has some valve it runs to u can see in hte pic and another hose runing to a solid pipe me thinks its not a stock Z20 item and was mounted there during the converion.

that looks like an emissions control device, if not a charcoal canister. it is buzzing because the pressure equalising inside of it.

it's the charcoal canister and it's designed to keep working when you've stopped the engine. stops HC emissions when the tank heat soaks

it is a charcoal cannister

it's allowing air to be sucked into the cannister and back to the tank - this is a good thing as it's allowing air pressure in the fuel tank to equalise with atmosphere pressure.

The noise is simply the one-way valve making too much noise.

Yep, another vote for charcoal cannister. MZ20 soarers have an almost identical setup
