Just line up the trigger (the sharp point on the shaft) with the top sensor, thats TDC. Its how i do it when im too lazy to pull the dizzy fully out.
only problem is the bottom end is at the machinists and the head is sitting on my bench without the cams torqued down (cant do this till i have the head on). maybe ill just have to wait?

ok cheers.
guys i hate to go on about this but its confusing the hell out of me! the haltech manual said it requires a trigger before it needs to fire the 1st cylinder in the firing order, wont this top wheel tell it when it right when it needs to fire not before?![]()
I'll try to get some pics of what takai was explaining, and also how i align all the marks. You will need the block to get it all right. With the haltech manual explanantion, when the dizzy is aligned with the marks on itself the trigger is just 5mm off the pickup, So as soon as you crank it, it will receive a signal.
Pics are worth 1000words.
alright cheers dude il wire it up in the way you guys have said, and hopefully al will be explained when i get a look at it together!
yes listen to cuzzo - he is on the money
with my 100kw i noticed the exact same thing - even though the dizzy was lined up as per the dots and the 4AGE manual the cylinder 1 ref was a few degrees off the sensor.
correct guys - the reference/home/G1/G2 sensor is ALWAYS a few degrees before the ignition event such that the ECU receiving the signal knows what cylinder the engine is up to before firing that cylinder
Craaaag - dont worry about it mate. Just pick the reference sensor (only one of the two) which has the trigger point closest to it when the dissy is installed and engine at top dead centre compression cylinder 1.
See the picture below
see how there are two "reference" sensors... well you only need one of them, and you want the one that goes "PIIINNGGGG" when your engine is at TDC compression on cylinder 1 (as explained in the 4age service book).
