motor noise ? rattling.. vibrating sound ?

yeh i might get underneath it when its cooled down with a torch and have a feel around
i have been thinking perhaps somethin with box, though the box is located on the other side of the car, and it does it in neutral as well as in gear.

Its more a vibration noise...
ummmm a whurring sorta sound

whirring is different to rattling/vibration

perhaps the alternator? they whir or your timing belt tensioner bearing etc.

from your very limited explanation of what kind of noise it is and where it appears to be coming from, I would start to check the timing belt side of things, check the tension of the belt and pullies, and accociated bearings.

Oh and while us "Good Mechanic's" may not be able to precisly tell you what a certain noise is, we know what a "Bad" noises sounds like and where they come from.

oh yeh it was after some spirited driving...
the sound could be descirbed as those paper whistle things u blow and makes that papery vibrating noise lol hows that for description !

lol, almost as good as the blond girl I got to make a "mooing" sound to describe the dry gas struts on her boot lid.
This job does have it's moments thats for sure
