    Default Yn57 Hilux Thermostat Location

    Hi guys

I recently acquired a 1984 Hilux with the 3YC motor. Upon removing the old radiator etc, i saw the thermostat was in the bottom hose outlet on the motor - has the drongo who owned it last placed it in the wrong position, or is it meant to be in the bottom hose?

    Thanks
    Blake

No thats where it belongs, it doesnt matter where it is as long as it has one. There should be a rubber gasket that the thermostat sits in. Have rebuilt a couple of these and they are all the same including the the 4y, Which is a much better motor.
    cheers
