Just finished working out which barbs on tha RA23 Fuel Tanks was in/out so I thought id share the info!
So theres 3 bars that are the same size on the top of the tank, layed out like this:
0--0
----0
(I'll grab some photos 2morrow for those that have trouble understanding)
The left top one is the return from your charcoal canister
The top right is your fuel return from your engine bay
Which leaves the bottom right as your fuel supply to your engine bay
---------------
Just something I thought might save people having to blow on fuel lines![]()
Kudos to Clint for telling me how to work it out too!
Cheers,
Bryce

You wouldent know what the charcoal canister does would you?
Its the large black round thing near the battery in the RA23/28. What it does is it collects fuel vapour, and then sends it back to your fuel tank. You dont have to have it, but you can get yellow stickered if you dont have it.
The fuel supply is at the top of the tank? I would've guessed the bottom (not fighting against gravity)
Theres no inlets or outlets on the bottom or sides of the tank. Only the top.
The way i worked out the supply was by disconecting the supply line in the engine bay, and disconecting 2 of the hoses on the tank, and then got my brother to use a balloon pump and pump air from the engine bay line. I could then feel air through the corresponding barb.
Ace : It's suction fed. Not gravity fed. Plus imagine how much crap would get sucked into the engine if it was fed from the bottom? But yes, all the ins and outs are on the top.
Yay im not seeing things![]()
That clears it up! + rep for both of you.Originally Posted by stradlater

im pretty sure the "charcoal return line" is actually your tank vent line.
from my understanding vapour gets run though the charcoal canister and then to the throtle to be burnt in the motor.

Either way, that barb goes to your charcoal canister
Good work. I worked all this out years ago when playing around with EFI, but never bothered to post it all up... so +rep for that mate.
