I have an 89 sierra that has had a 4agze for 4 years.for the last 2.5 it has been twincharged.
The t50 held up quite well (i think i was lucky).had it in ge gze sierras for 8years odd.
Its now broken..18 pound boost daily driver![]()
The diffs were ok with small tyres,no lockers or turbo.But with lockers & turbo you could break c/vs axels & diffs at will off road.Even used to tear the spring pads of the diffs.
It now has hilux diffs with a 5 link front & 4 link rear with coils.
I have a Niteparts bellhousing from the group buy (thanks again) that is bolted to a 86 hilux g52 box & transfer case, hopefully it will do the trick(its probably 3 or 4 inches shorter than the t50> jackshaft>sierra t/case combo).
got it in the chassis,just have to make a new crossmember,mod the trans tunnell & maybe move the whole lot back a bit so i can hopefully reuse the brand new double cardan t/shafts that were put in & hardly used before the gearbox broke.
