Blocks are the same, so 16v timing belt & oil pump will be fine.
ok so the story goes i brought a 20v block that had been fitted with gze pistons ect. in anticipation of a turbo conversion. however i dont wish to run the 20v head, rather the smallport 16v one, so as not to have to worry about distributors, plenums and water lines. now seeing i have a 20v block and a 16v head can anyone see any problem with running a 16v timing belt? also will the 16v oil pump be compatible?
cheers guys

i dont see any reason why not.... the only thing i can maybe think of is the oil drain on the smallport 16V on the intake side near cyl 4.... i dont remember if the 20V has this.
...... butt scratcher?!

Sorry to hijack the thread guys, but since it's the compatibility thread i thought i'd ask here
Im looking at buying a microtech ltx8 with the loom off a mate who's had it in his car for the last 2400km of its life. Now the engine is a 4age 16v whereas i need it for a 20V. Would you know if the loom would have to be changed or can it be used?
Thanks![]()
I have been pruned by old man river!!!!!
