    Default 7MGTE: wtf is this?

see attatched pic, theres a connection on the back of the block, intake side, behind the intake manifold, its a hole about 12-15mm wide, with two studs sticking out of the block either side.

now... what the hell is it? and mines currently unblocked, should i make up a plate to block it? or do i need to connect it to something!?

No need to block unless its leaking copious amounts of air.

If the hole is not bored out it wont be doing anything. Some, if not all, MX83 7M-GEs have the casting but it's not bored out.

Correct, on every 7M I've seen this hole has no function whatsoever and is never blocked or plated over

yep it goes straight thru, no need to block it

however on the back of the head on the exhaust side should be small plate bolted to the head, this should cover up the exhaust side of the non used egr valve. The hole runs thru into #6 exhuast so make sure its blocked up. I had huge issues finding my exhaujst leak after i \got my head back from the head place and didn't check how tight the cover plate was
