NCOP is in the works. to find out the latest at the RTA... ring the RTA... hassle them about when the NCOP is coming in

I looked up the RTA website, and the last revision for the light vehicle modification rules was April 2005. Now, i have heard there was a BIG rethink on these rules not so long ago, but cant find anything?? Basically, need to know (if there is any) new rulings on weight vs. engine capacity, and the aftermarket ECU rulings

I have skimmed through most of the relevant pdf's (engine, suspension, body, brakes and transmission), and to summarise them, get friendly with an engineer quick, anything that wasn’t standard or optional equipment for that model of car will now have to be engendered. I.e. 18rg in ta23/3 = engineer (just an example). 6 point cages are also out on the street. No ifs buts or maybes
I have also heard that any unengineered mod will carry heavy penalties. We will have to wait and see how hard they will hit us.
As to aftermarket ECM, as long as it meets EPA standards.
Power to weight, turbo or supercharged = displacement x 2, (I.e. 3sgte = 4L)
From what I can source power to weight restrictions still only apply to P platers.
Please correct me if I am wrong with any of this info, its just how I interpreted it.
Cheers Mike
Ahh thanks guys. Hmmm, it looks like i can do what i want to, but only when these new rules come into play![]()
