more infowhat are you trying to do?
as for the 3tgte ignition system im not a fan of the 3tgte twinspark 8 sparkplug $150 rotor and $50 dizzy cap for a start lol!
With no knock ECU or engine ECU?
The dizzy itself looks to be dumb, all it does is provide a reference point for spark, if the ignitor is not getting a signal from the ECU or sending a signal to the knock computer anyone know if this will work?
Anyone know exactly how dumb the 3TGTEU original setup actually is? As dumb as me?![]()

basically run the 3TGTEU without the stock EFI or knock computer on straight LPG
If you did get it to work would have no mechanical or vacumn advance, would not be very efficient.

jon, how do you figure that? given mechanical advance is controlled by centrifugal force and vaccuum is derived from the plenum?
remember the dizzy is dumb mate - not computer controlled at all![]()
Sorry from your first post i thought you meant dumb as in it does nothing rather than tell ECU where cam is at and then "distibutes" spark to correct cylinder when coil if fired by ECU, therefore would have no advance mechanism in it at all..
Now i feel dumb.
If it is as you say with full advance control in it then it is already operating stand alone so no reason that it shouldnt continue to, just get it regraphed to optimise advance curves for gas.

no problems matey.
yeah thats what i think also, i wonder whether the ignitor needs a signal from either the knock control computer or the ecu to function?
that v6 is a good fit in your ra. i could show you another v6 in a ta22 but it would cause a flame war on here![]()
If Distributor has vacum canister and weights to control ignition curve would be a bit strange for it to be controlled by ECU as well, would be full ECU control or full ditributor control i recon.
Pm me some pics of the V6 in TA22.
