    Default 4AGE 16V valve weights

    Hi,
I am looking for inlet and exhaust valve weights for 16V 4AGE. I dont want to take my head off to do this (I might die haha). I found some oversized aftermarket valves here :- http://www.importperformanceparts.ne...es-toyota.html

I emailed these guys and got the response that :-
    They are dished,undercut and weigh 40grams E and 43I

I'm Interested to seen if I'd need stronger springs than stock to work them...hence asking about stock valve weights...

    Cheers, Nick

Edit : I realise the valves arent a 'bolt on' modification!!!! and I will need new valve seats yada yada...

I can get my hands on some spare valves if nobody else has any.

If your going aftermarket valves, you might as well up the spring rate to suit what you will be doing with engine.
i only have complete heads, and i dont have the spring compressor here.

    Hi,
Yep, intend on changing the springs as I just bought a 256deg, 8.35mm exh cam off ebay, which will be my new exh cam (probably to go with a stock inlet 240 cam). Hence I need new springs anyhow (stockies bind above 8.1mm apparently). Also the 256 would go nice on the inlet with my Wade 267 on exh, at the expensive of a bulletproof low end though...decisions decisions.. Yep, Ben that would be great if you could weight them.

    --4age Intake valve specs--
    Head Diameter = 1.201in. --- 29.5mm
    Stem Diameter = 0.236in. --- 06.0mm
    Overall Length = 3.925in. --- 99.7mm
    --4age Exhaust valve specs--
    Head Diameter = 1.004in. --- 25.5mm
    Stem Diameter = 0.236in. --- 06.0mm
    Overall Length = 3.925in. --- 99.7mm

    --B16a Intake Valve specs--
    Head Diameter: 33mm
    Stem Diameter: 5.48mm
    Valve Length: 102.5mm
    --B16a Exhaust Valve specs--
    Head Diameter: 28mm
    Stem Diameter: 5.45mm
    Valve Length: 102.5mm

I figure these weights should be a reasonable comparison, since the valves are similarly sized.

    Hi,
Follow the link and all shall be revealed . The inlets are 1.5mm o/s (32mm) and the exhausts are 2mm o/s (27.5mm).

For comparison, these are some inlet flow figures a friend of mine got for atlantic valves vs standard, not sure how much porting he did here. I think these numbers are @25"

    lift---4age std---------4a atlantic
    mm-----29.5mm v---------32mm v
    4-------111.6-------------123.3
    8-------159.1-------------199.2
    12------183.4(197hp)------230.8(247hp)
    16------185---------------243.5

FWIW - These are the figures for a stock integra type R - damn...

    mm-----type r
    4-------114.3
    8-------201.1
    12------249.2(267hp)
    16------262

I finally got around to weighing some last night. Stock bigport valves:

    Inlet - 41g
    Ex - 36g

    Sorry it took so long...

All the valves are the same size from memory, bigport and smallport. 20v on the other hand....

I wonder what it would take to get valve guides made up for a 5.45mm stem
