well, a bigger turbo would be lovely.... but then i'd want to re-do my headgasket to another metal one... and it'd be another whole round of spending on shit like clutches!

    i haven't even experienced above 6psi yet

so 12psi and around 200rwkw is going to make every set of pants i own brown*, let alone with teh massiv turboz0r

    *hopefully

Bigger volume pipes and intercooler will also take more time to fill up now at the same boost pressures as before.

Fix it, before it kills your 7m.

cheers glen, i had figured as much.

however i think i will get a less bent turbo in the interim, save hiflowing, rebuilding or upgrading for later.

the good news is the noise is 110% definately not the turbo, and the alternator.
    thanks guys

fit your current turbo with a larger compressor wheel, and at the same time, get a new sleeve bearing if possible... balance, and call it a day, an expensive day

i've considered that, but at the end of the day ill only be running 12psi (for higher i'd want to redo the headgasket again) so it'd make little difference...

Just thought I'd add that a leaky manifold-to-turbo gasket can create an odd squealing sound as well. Not sure if that helps, but it might be worth looking at.

    Cheers,

My turbo has damaged fins, the turbo is a fair bit lagier than it was before it happened, more noticible when i turned up the boost from the stock 6.8 to around 11-12 psi.

my fins are pretty badly damaged, but i have a spare ct26 sitting here waiting to go in.

and i havent sxperience any squealing sounds of any sort, but youve already said that your sure its not the turbo so yeah.

basically, since the fins have been damaged, ive only experienced a bit more lag, and the turbo runs out of puff and i can see boost drop off higher up.

thats it though, no other signs.

yes, i know its a ticking time bomb before it blows up, but the new turbo will be on soon.
