Bugger..... I've looked in sooooo many places, but there doesn't seem to be any brackets around!

Is there anyone around morningside in brisbane with this conversion? If so, I wouldn't mind getting some measurements

Stu, source a pair of 1G-GZE engine brackets. These bolt up to the forward mount holes on the block, no fabrication required!. Use a set of 18R isolation mounts as ddeane said, and you are in business. Been there, done that.

    cheers Chuck.

Seriously though, you don't need to go to the hassle of designing/fabricating anything... its all been done before as ddeane & Chuck have mentioned, as far as conversions go, it doesn't get much easier.

By the way, where do you find engineers for so cheap!? Going rate around here is around $770

    Good luck with the conversion.
    Cheers

Try living next door to 1 of 6 engineers in queensland that can do it.... it worked for me!

Anyhow, I now have a set of mounts from a 1GGZE. So I'll dimension them up and then if anyone wants them made or wants to modify some other mounts, the drawing will be available.

I've cut the exhaust and got the old 18RG out. So after a clean up, I'll start documenting everything - including what to keep and toss from the half cut and the accepting vehicle, and also how to wire it up (I'll have an auto electrician on hand to get through this). So all looks pretty good now

If anyone is interested, I've drafted up the mounts from a GZE to use in the conversion. I've got it in PDF format. Typical disclaimer - get some advice prior to building, the drawings are only for geometry.

    cheers
