    Default TA22 indicator cancel

I have an aftermarket steering wheel with boss fitted into 74 TA22, was told this is the reason why my indicators now don't cancel, did they once cancel with a standard steering wheel? is there a way to make them cancel now that anyone has done?

what brand of boss kit are you using?
does it cancel one way and not the other or not at all?

you need to take the cancellor off the original wheel and attach it to the back of your boss kit.

If you look on the back of the standard steering wheel there should be two holes on either side of the contact plate. These two holes are for the pins on the combo switch assembly to go into.

Now some boss kits do not have these holes in them so what happens is when you turn the wheel the two pins which turn the indicators off dont have anything to lock into so they just spin on the back of the boss kit when you turn the wheel.

What you will need to do to get them to work is drill two holes in the back of the boss kit so these pins can lock in. Have a look at it after you take it off and you will see what i mean. I'll try and dig up some pics of a boss kit if what i've mentioned doesn't explain it well enough.

You'll find that the pins + holes lie vertically and sit more towards the left hand side than the right. I took that part off because my new boss kit doesnt line up 100% with the indicator cancelator and would cancel my blinking with acute movement of the wheel.

I know im digging up an ancient thread, but: I also have an indicator cancel problem with my TA22.

My steering wheel does have the two holes at 9 and 3, but it’s the ring that goes on the spline and locks into these holes that is missing (this is the ring that turns around and pushes the indicator off).

If anyone has a pic of what this ring (or complete assembly) looks like it would help me a lot, because I am going to go and molest the indicators off some wrecked Toyotas this weekend to hopefully find something similar.

    Thanks to anyone that helps!

most ta22 parts are not interchangable with any other models- i've found
but i found out that this model corona has the same ignition switch as early ta22's
start with this model if there's no ta22's..the steering wheel will be on tight.
take a puller tool or large hammer along to the wreckers
remember the part you want is screwed to the inside part of the steering wheel so don't throw the wheel once off
