I would get someone to check your unis first.
Hoping someone can help me. I've an rt142 corona wagon that's developed a vibration that feels like it's coming from the rear of the car though it's basically shaking the whole car. When I accelerate the car vibrates rather badly once the revs go above not many. I don't have as tacho. When I downshift, even in a sane manner, the same thing happens. Bad vibration. Might even be a bit worse than when I accelerate. It's not too bad once I get cruising although the other day I was sitting on around 100 kph and you could feel a bit of a shudder. It's driving me nuts. From what I've read I'm assuming it's the tailshaft or a uni joint or something but truth be known I've no idea really. Any help appreciated.

diffs are notoriously bad in these if its not the uni its that
You should check the basics first like:
tyres out of balance
buckled wheels
look for any obvious damage in the driveline
Then do more checks on the driveline:
clutch slip or shudder
signs of grease spray from uni-joints
too much play in uni-joints
tailshaft balance - check if the weights are still there or have it balanced
Hope this helps
Thanks for your replies men. Appreciated. Can't really afford someone to have a look at it so I'm going to check things out today. Driving the car yesterday the whole thing seemed way worse. This shudder I get is most noticeable when easing off in 2nd or 3rd gear. The car shudders very badly when I do that. Does that point to anything in particular ????
Going to start checking things out at around 12 so if anyone else has anything to add before then please feel free to do so.
Thanks again for the replies.
The uni joint nearest the diff was shot. I've no idea how long it takes for these things to go from good to bad, but, I had the weakest of shudders for about 12 months, maybe longer. No shudder anymore. Can get all that 22re power (or lack thereof) to the ground now without a care in the world, or something like that.
Thanks for all the replies.
Cheers.
