Ive only drove the car a coupla times since I got it cause its got no reg but for what it is it is awesome.Power is unreal rite through the rev range.Revs to 7500rpm without a problem at all.And seems to be pretty good on fuel also.Ive owned and drove some pretty wild cars but for what the 1G goes like it is unreal.
    Cheers Brett.

refer to that thread and do a comparison.. of HP and torque figures to see if it's worth it.. IMO the 4 runners were under powered, with the 2.4 petrol motor.. best bet is to fit a V6 in it, u can't go wrong.. 1MZ (i think it is) or so.. the quad cam 24 valve thing..

The biggest tune up will come from removing the throttle body and ISCV, and thoroughly cleaning them with carby cleaner, get all the built up goop on there.

Also replace every rubber hose on the top of the motor that has gone hard or has cracked.

Yes I have noticed that some of the hoses are a little bit worse for wear.I had thought of removing the throttle body and such and see whats in there.Plus I still need to give it a good degrease so I can see what lurks under some of the scum thats built up on the engine. But really guys I can not get over how much grunt this standard 2litre has its awesome. And i've owned quite a few modded cars in my time.

The 1G is a very neat little package for its size/weight.

    Surprises a lot of people.

We had a 1983 1GGE pull 110rwhp at our dyno day last year.
Sure it only has 130,000km's on it, but it is 23 years old.

Yes it is a very suprising little package as we know what all Toyota engines are like. And I have owned quite a few in the last 20 odd years.I'd near say that is what mine is possibley pulling at the rear wheels also.Frying the tyres in the first 3 gears is not a problem either. And I think it is only running a T50 Celica gearbox also.I need to check that though.
    Cheers Brett.
