4agze CAS into 4AGE

So what your saying BIGWORM, is for the average guy on the street, he could just take the leads off the dizzy and connect the original wires and he could just drive off??
The CAS is cheaper as it is bolt in and drive off!! Pure and simple!!
Why is everyone making an arguement out of this, I am just telling him about my experiences, thats all!!

What I'm saying NOS4AG, is for the average guy on the street using the dizzy you already have and is already bolted in is much easier and cheaper than having to purchase a CAS.
And yes, once the aftermarket computer being used is wired up, all you need to do is take the leads off the dizzy.
I don't know how or why this has turned into an argument, what Witzl & I am saying seems pretty straight forward to me.

What you have just said, YES, is pretty straight forward. But earlier in the thread you were talking about how you modified yours to work with the Autronic. Now what if this guy is not that mechanically minded and just wants something that everyone knows works and arnt that hard to find?? yeah but this guy is using a Microtech, so he doesnt have to modify the internals of the dissy like Bigworm here did.

Literally plug and play with the microtech - just add 4 coils.

Anyway, 45aken, I still think that the GZE CAS is the best way to go for your application. (my opinion). But if want to do the dizzy mod, its all up to you mate. You dont have to use the GZE coils, just get some new ones from Bosch like Bigworm said too. They look nice and new in his engine bay aswell. Also the GZE CAS doesnt stick out as much, in case you have some difficulty with room with a turbo conversion or something. (again my opinion).

the second pic down is my actual car (trust turbo/external gate) i had to remove to cap to tighten the bolts haha. i was worried about how much the dizzy sticks out and just wanted something simple to fix all this (the car has been off the road for like 7 months getting everything done to it) if i can find a gze cas i'll just use that, it's alot neater etc. but if i cant then i'll just have to mod the dizzy then make a cap.
im wiring up the ecu and i've done all the work on the car myself, i just want everything to work right the first time.

is there any disadvantages when mod'ing the dizzy? in regards to accuracy etc? i haven't even had time to look inside it.

BTW guy's i dont have a smallport dizzy, it's a bigport (if it makes any difference)

Is it possible to remove the rotor? Or as i read on the old forums "Just cut it off flush" then make a cover. What should i make a cover from?? It cant be flat.

Yeah it will be a little different. You'll have a 4 toothed wheel instead of the single the smallport one has. You can do as Bigworm has and grind 3 teeth off but check if your ecu can run with the 4 tooth wheel 1st.

i think 4age has a hall effect type sensor (correct me if im wrong). make a plate to cover it and a gasket. then you will have a CAS that you can use on the microtech.

nearly right - the sensors are VRs (variable reluctors).
