my advice go for it. the 7af and the 4a engines are identical!
the only difference comes with the ge head design (wide head)
with using the 7af engine for the sc12 u actually will gain more room in ur engine bay then what u would with the 4agZE engine, fuel efficency vs power is alot better
and more room for further upgrades ie boring out the engine to a 2lt or 2.1lt if ur keen to push it, retaining a 16v head is actually a better design and flow over the 20v head, due to when u get into serious port an polishing, the valve angle on the 16v is ALOT steeper than the wider 20v head, a WORKED 16v s/c engine side by side with an identical WORKED
20v s/c engine, the 16v will walk away at mid range to top end due to better head flow potential. but any way, GO FOR IT with the sc12 over the sc14 if u wanting to retain standard internals, use a factory 4agze pulley and mounting brackets. im currently running the 7afe engine, with a 4a computer and 4a throttle body due to didnt have 7af computer when i got the engine, but that being said its still got 93kw at the f/wheels, with a nice 2 an a half inch exhaust, pod filter and some adjustments to the timing, approx 14 deg advanced runs like a dream all the way to an easy [email protected] on 14/185/60 street tyres
