Moderators should be able to start threads and moderate them in the sponsors area. Anyone should be able to reply to threads in there.
I'll check it out.
Josh - i dont remember what the exact permissions rules were that we originally set out for the forum sponsors section..... but have a look at what i was able to post there.
As "the witzl" - i could start a thread in both the sub-section "forum sponsors" and the sub-sub section "importbitz"..... then as my test-wookie login i could not create threads there, but i could reply to both of the threads i had already created....
Enjoy![]()

OK I had left reply rights in the base sponsors section why wasn't meant to be there. So Mods can create and moderate threads in any of the sponsor sections, any member can reply to any of the threads in the specific sponsors sections.
choice
thats what i thought it should have been like.
...... butt scratcher?!
Personally I don't like the idea of a sponsors section.
I'd rather see them post in the same sections as everyone else.
If I'm looking for engine parts I'd rather check JUST the Engine + Mechanicals section, and not have to check various Sponsors sections.
If they want to list everything they have forsale, then they should have their own website.
This is just my view anyway.
Obviously some sponsors would rather have their own section, and would probably pay extra for it.

While on the topic of For Sale, can we introduce these policies?
There are no EOI (Expressions Of Interest), you’re either selling it or you aren’t. If you want to auction something then put it on EBAY. Any posts without pricing will be advised of such and then removed a few hours later if no price is put up.If you are really interested in the sale, contact the seller with the details given. If you send a PM, place the PM on "tracker" so you know when they receive the PM. Any posts eg "PM sent" will be deleted as they are considered a 'bump'.
"good luck with sale" and anything like that is in the same boat and will result in the post being deleted and the member warned. For Sale template - MUST BE USED

Price and price conditions:

Now, I'm not sure if the For Sale template 'appears' when you hit NEW THREAD in the relevant sections (which would be VERY cool IMO), or if its a cut and paste job from a sticky.
I don't have permission to start new thread on that forum.

The main reason for having the seperate sponsors section is to have a clear differentiation between traders ads and private ads. Basically we want people to be able to understand that commercial posting is only allowed for sponsors. There is just too many commercial advertisers on the current forum because they can blend in.Originally Posted by CrUZida
You should have access to post for sale threads in all of the general for sale area's. You're a club member so you have full access. Non club members at first registration don't have access to start threads in the for sale areas and only club members are allowed to start threads in the misc section.
The template thing is a good idea. I'll check out how to have a generic template come up when starting a thread in the for sale areas.
