7MGTE won't start after conversion - FIXED!!!

Finally solved it!!

Near the ignitor, there is also a plug that plugs in to the fuse box loom that has wires like M-REL, BATT etc in it.
Well being a butchered loom, most of these pins had come out and were just dangling there.

It just happened that the +12v feed to the ignitor had come out from the ignitor plug as well, and the wire is the same length as these other ones.

So I just presumed it was one of the random wires...

Plugged it back in to the ignitor plug, turned the key, and blammo, we had spark.

Thanks to all that helped, I knew it would have been a simple problem, I just had to find it!!

mechanical problems do seem to inflict much wiring trauma - good to see yours was temporary problem.

... Brett_celicacoupe managed to disable his 1G by pulling too hard on the ignitor connector during a recent engine removal. 12V pin to ignitor was drawn back inside the plug and at first glance the connector looked correctly re-attached...

So I take it I'm free to murder my loom getting it out now then?

why didnt the ECU throw the code for 'ignitor problems' ??

I presume its as Wilbo said, and the key needs to be held on start for a long time before and ignitor code is thrown.
