richard, i have a selection of taper reamers. remind me to check when you collect the hilux.

gearbox, have you got this installed as yet.?? the RA stut legs have a 8.5 degree king pin angle meaning you need 35mm extra to just get back to Corolla 4 degree value. I did this once before & used an offset strut top out of a T18 I think

I haven't installed it yet. The MX36 LCA's are 30mm longer than the factory LCAs, if thats not enough i will go to MX62 arms later. The idea about the T-18 strut tops is interesting, ill have to investigate as i have Late & Early model T-18 parts cars out the back

    Little update

Lance, heres a pic of the new arms, i don't think it'll tell you much, they are just the same with a larger hole for the taper. as much as i can tell the taper b/w the smaller & larger balljoints are the same, the nuts also interchange. Just the larger ones are bored out.

I did the mods to fit the MX32 arms today, all i had to do was slot 1 castor arm hole on each lca as well as drill a new swaybar hole.

And here is the finished product during dummy fitting, ill get some better pictures as i assemble it properly

    good info guys.

glenn, did you drill 2 new holes for the castor arm or did you use the MX62 castor arm (or are they called radius rod? )

would you mind posting a pic of your control arm if you have one handy? you could email it to me if you like

im also wondering about the sway bar bolt hole?

all i have used was the mx62 lower arms with ball joint and used the ra40 knuckle where it was reamed to suit bigger ball joint had to file 1 hole a little for the radius rods left and right but used offset sway bar links 2 slove the sway bar problem ,and unscrew the steering to realign as well

I finished installing it today, seems to be ok. Problem atm is my castor is way up the shit as its set the same as it was with the factory LCA, cept now with the longer arm its pushed the castor right up the front so ill have to back it off a bit.

I'm not sure how much camber this conversion has netted if any compared to stock, i know there is a noticeable increase in track width though!

As you can see there is slightly lots of caster!

Ive just gotta sort out the brake lines now and do an alignment. I might grind the steering arm stoppers off the LCA if i can be stuffed. There you have it, MX36 LCA's if you want +30mm LCA's, though you need the steering arms reamed for the larger ball joint if your car doesn't use it Oh and with the extra length of the LCA's if u just slot the radius rod holes like i did in the pic (and not drill new ones) u get the benifit of being able to wind more caster in if you want. Ive still got over a centermeter or 2 of thread on the caster rods
