Default Speedflow Pushlock fittings for oil cooler?

    Hi Guys.

I've chosen to use Speedflow fittings for my oil cooler mainly because they offer 180 degree bends which I need in my situation.
I'm wondering how good is the 400 Series Pushlock system suited, mainly chosing it as I will be able to Do it myself and in all black it has that factory look under the bay.

Since it doesn't use a clamp, how well do they hold under pressure and temperature when used with an oil cooler. I'll be using AN-10 fittings atmy oil filter housing and at the oil cooler.

I had also considered using Proflow or Aeroflow but I guess Speedflow seems to have the best rep.

    Cheers.

mate has them on his r32 with an oil cooler and when we out them together it was hard to put the fuckers on. took two of us and about 5 mins of both pushing. the only way to get them off once they are on is to slice the hose.
i would say they are pretty dam good. the quality is amazing. youll see this when you get them. get the correct hose to suit the fittings and application also. your local sped shop will be able to help you out.

The price difference isn't that great to 100 series braid....
But yeah add a hose clamp and you will be fine. You need the vice jaws. Hot water and dishwashing soap to get them on. They are a prick

I used some generic brass push-on fittings from a hydraulic place for my oil cooler/remote filter setup. It's worked fine. I can only assume that the bling brands would be better in some way.
I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.
Drift Volvo. Was fun. 2JZ next time.

Never use clamps on a barbed/pushon fitting IF the clamp isn't well clear of the last barb, it'll cut into the hose.

Also, 90 degree and definitely 180 fittings are something you really oughta try to avoid!

those cobra clamps i mentioned above are supplied by motorsport connections specifically for push-on fittings when used in pressurised applications

yes do not use a clamp on a push lock fitting

i can assure you those speed flow fittings are insane. after working with them on a mates 400kw r32 build and talking with my dad and his mates who use them on top fuel dragsters im pretty confident they will be over kill for your application. but look blingy as fuck

a cheaper option is the areo flow fittings. im pretty sure these are an aussie made copy of the speed flow fittings and at half the price well worth it. i can only assume the quality is the same or similar. i plan to use these on my build.

I had speedflow fittings and aeroquip pushlok hose on an oil cooler, the hose would slowly work its way loose. MSCN recommended it but good luck getting them fix your motor when a hose blows off.
Fucked the lot off for 100 series, problem solved.

Speed Flow are the only aussie made fitting.
The only other common'ish brand that is worth considering is Earls out of the US.
Aeroflow, Proflow, etc are all crappy chinese copies.

The chinese made fittings have thin turbo wall thicknesses, interior roughness, bad anodizing, etc, etc.
    Not reliable.

Yup, its not worth risking the engine on pushlok fittings.

Ive only used pushlok for coolant and fuel.
with oil ive just gone to a hydraulic place and they made the lines.

Tho i do know alot of ppl that have used pushlok on oil with out probs.
and know a few that had properly swaged lines fail.

Eh, I've got a few Aeroflow ones too and they seem pretty good, they are the full flow ones.
The Chinese thin brazed ones look dodgy though, they look like they can snap easily.

I have had swarf and tube sleeves not fit the matching tube nuts with speed flow.
Aeroflow has been perfect.... Go figure
