Who and what exploded?

the only thing that exploded was Roundy's tyre after a bit of an off at 170kmh.
I don't think there were many breakdowns at this one.
Ness: now driving a Rukus
i'm right 98% of the time....
so who cares about the other 3%
What were you driving, MRZ?
The grey AW11? Cos it was a lot quicker than I was expecting it to be.
I've now got to throw away another set of tyres. But I got a year's use out of them, so I can't complain
I've got 1 set left, but they've got rubber pickup on them, which makes them useless to balance, which then makes them difficult to drive at 140+ km/h
Any suggestions about how to remove this, considering my car isn't registered, nor is registerable...
GT, I know it's early, but any indication of when the days might be next year (even to the nearest month)?
I need to plan holidays & get the engine conversion done (sick of having no grunt up the hill)
I was in the Cressida. It was a first outing to see what the deal is driving on a track. My car is not suited for track it but it was not put together track, mainly a street car with poke.
Nice. It has a 1UZ in it? I think I heard a V8 rumble from your car.
Didn't see if it was a Grande or not, but I'd recommend if you're going to continue to come to track days, then the LSD would be a good start, along with the BA Falcon rotor/Skyline 4 spot caliper front brake upgrade would be a good thing to look into.
Along with sway bars & suspension.
I gained a good few seconds by fitting an LSD & bigger brakes to my Excel.
Steve - a good track/race oriented tyre shop should be able to shave off the rubber pickup for you and balance at the same time
any recommendations?
I really only know of rally tyre shops, and they don't bother balancing at all cos there's no point
Theres one out here at Emu Plains he goes to the track(SMP) and does tyres there.
You mean Gordon Leven? Something closer than 60km each way would be nice![]()
Thats the one, Handy for me!
LOL the rumble was from the other V8, they did sound nice. Car is a Grande running a 1J with a single. Have the Skyline calipers front and rear, rear sway and budget suspension. Nah won't continue track day, I'm too noob and don't have skills for that sort of game, may go when I want to thrash around but not serious enough to play.
But yeah I can see there is some kind of enticement to go out on the track.
Steve, Blair's in Peakhurst were always good when I went there when I liked close by.
Steve - spinning wheel tyres in .... Waterloo? Alexandria? impressed me as knowing their stuff, although far more a performance shop rather than track. Worth a call to see what they might be able to do
