Pretty sure Roundy's dad won that prize...
Garth: rear tyres are Michelin Pilot Super Sports - factory fitted to a 599 GTO and the Koenigsegg Agera
Performance is meant to be on par with mid-level semi slicks, while keeping all the benefits of a road tyre.
Fronts are the pilot sport 3 - basically a step down from the super sports
was a great day guys.. hope some vids and pics start making their way onto the thread.
Here's one from inside the aristo, there's a few hectic moments, notably with the silver SW20 down the straight - fucker wouldnt let anyone pass.. side by side under braking.. ultimate lols
How about one hour of wakefield park in slow motion? here's video at 120FPS slowed down so 1 second takes 4 seconds to pass.

Just one more to finish it off

Greg, so you're running lesser tyres on the front? Why? Saving $$, just spending $$$ on the rears for traction? That logic probably falls over on the track as it might explain why it was sketchier under brakes than expected.
Ya, same here - would seem he's a bad influence on us/everyone.
Nice work Simmo - the grey SW20 is Warwick's brother, and Warwick had a couple of drives of it, so draw your own conclusions there... I had an epic battle with Warwick for a couple of laps one session, like the good old days when he held you up everywhere then had just enough poke to hold you off up the straights if he got defensive, which of course he did. Frustratingly hilarious when you know him well enough and he knows you; just frustrating otherwise. This time, when i came around and saw the big grin in the side mirror i knew who it was and planted myself on his bumper and filled his mirrors; usually he goes too deep somewhere and you get through.
My vids are now up, i've got Katja driving the 86 in only her 2nd session at her first track day - was a good effort i reckon! Give her a few more goes and Vito's going to have to be on his game to maintain the pant-wearing;

Me having a go in the 86 - but outsmarted by the TRC off button so am hilarity-limited;

My 2nd session in the morning with the new PB - the first flyer is a 1:16.21 and i go 1:16.19 on about lap 7 i think;

There's also a couple of my other sessions up, with the Warwick laps and a few bits of Greg including going off at turn 2 in there.

haha thats some good shit there simmo, good commentary too...
I think Katja will go well once she gets some experience/confidence and starts attaking the corners and getting on the gas earlier, I'll make a car/track nut out of her in due course![]()
Yeah she's already got solid lines, just needs to build speed up by picking up the throttle earlier and getting more confident carrying more speed out and using more track on exit. Entry speeds were good, was a bit wide of a few apexs but generally better than plenty of other first-timers i've ridden with.

yeah i had instructed her to just use 3rd/4th and focus on getting her lines right for the first day, its the best way to learn imo.
replaced fronts first, then when rears shagged out I was feeling richer and so bought more exxy tyres. Planning on fitting the same to the fronts when they go, didn't feel like getting rid of some 90% new tyres - and yeah, not great on the track but perfectly safe for the street
Next time we should swap the fronts to the rear and get you there more quickly. Wait, staggered sizes, hmmm... might still fit?![]()

what's the date of the next one?
Thanks for the reminder, i got told on Friday that it had changed and have been meaning to let you all know; the next day is November 1st. Friday as usual, think it was originally the 8th but has been brought forward as a large number of the MWSCC guys are going to Phillip Island that week for the Supersprint Nationals. Also means i'm expecting a pretty quiet day as a number won't want to risk breaking the car and not getting it fixed in time to go to PI.

i chould technically get the adub sorted in time for that, but we all know it's just not going to happen![]()
How's this sound for motivation; now i know what i did wrong turning off the vsc, tc and other nanny-aids in the 86, how about i just skid the shit of it every track day you bring it to? Would that encourage you to get the adub sorted?
