    Default ST215 3sgte A/C problem

    Hi guys,

My conversion (gen1 Rav4 3sgte) gone wrong. Some wirings/sensor/vac lines have been bypassed. But the car is running and no check engine lights (fingers crossed). The problem is when the A/C is on. I've no problems when its driving with A/C on but when on full stop the body will shake because of the low rpm (so i need to turn off the A/C until its green and go again ).

Am thinking of putting an idle-up solenoid. But am not sure if this will work. Anyone who could shed light on this? Caldina parts are rare in my area. Don't ask on the mechanic/electrician who did my car they are long gone after they got my payment. I just wanted to make my swap work

    Thanks

Didn't the ST215 have a dedicated Valve/Solenoid from factory just for the A/C to idle up? Perhaps you could get a hold of one of those.

Most ECU's have a Pin that gets power or ground when the A/C Comes on.... and the ECU then modulates the idle control valve to raise the idle,
Or Opens a separate valve for Idle up.

Find out the way it was done in the car that it came out of, and replicate it on the Engine. Just have a Relay to activate a solenoid to feed extra air to the Motor.... using the A/C Signal wire as the trigger.

@Z2TT you mean to say that i can get a similar solenoid from a different Toyota model I just need to trace where i can get an A/C signal to replicate the solenoid. I have the original solenoid but i think its not working. Caldina parts are rare here in my country. Shipping it from the US is ok but I need to wait for weeks, i need it to be done as early as possible.

@punkture Sorry what do you mean by "caldinas bgb"?

bgb = big green book which is the toyota workshop manual. Look here for the ecu pinout to see the AC wires you are looking for provided that the harness has not been chopped. If cut and new wires have been used for the engine bay harness you will need to trace back to the ecu plug.

My harness is a mess right now. Am looking for GTE wiring harness that is almost identical with the caldinas (just to avoid solders and labor on tracing wires). leaning towards the beams greytop wiring harness (since my GTE is sitting on rav). Or the ST205. OR whichever is available on the market and is compatible. Been posting FS for the wiring harness but can't find for the caldina.

    Thanks for the help guys.
