PBs all over the place, ended up being a great day for most. Cool air and warmish track was a good combo.

Mal broke another driveshaft, that 3 different bits in 3 consecutive events.

I can say with confidence that 36psi in my Dunlop rears was way too much for a cold tyre. Chasing my tail, suspected breakage and wheel alignment issues all day... just to make the thing driveable and still not even quick. Finally got it around the track the last run of the day without a spin or near miss A day best forgotten for me

But the GT8 was still out there, and that puts a smile on many people's faces. 2nd gear burnouts and the run up the hill - ah, the noise. Glorious!

Gt8 is tops no matter what the times are !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have to say I had a great day , it is amazing what can be learned driving a vehicle that is a little down on the power and handling department. I was bloody pleased to see both Jo Jo and I get the times down to a mid 55 sec with some spirited driving . You do not have to spend a lot of money to have a lot of fun !!!!!!!!!!!

A few photos of the lads at play !!!!!!!!!!

Jo Jo attacks the S 's

I attack the same corner --- only a slight difference in style !!!!!!!!!!! ???????????//

I think I need a bit more lock for this next run ?

    Some more !!!!!!!!!!!!!

AAARRHH !!!!! Nothing like the smell of burning rubber , early in the morning !!!!!

No ! The wide line not right !!!! bugger !!!

There was a slight difference between Jo Jo and me in size department , that required the smallest of adjustments to the belts .

And this really did not help me go any fast er !!!!!

    No ABS HERE !!!

hahaha, you must have been determined not to have another crash with the belts in that position hey Joe!

Good pics as usual Bob. Though i'm not so sure that your comment "a little bit down on power" in relation to the 4ac is entirely accurate I'd have been concerned about getting to the top of the hill without having to change down gears halfway! LOL

More than half the photos where taken by Jo Jo , he reckons he his hopeless at it , but I reckon his subject selection was excellent , helps bring the day to life for now and later on .

As to the 4ac --- well that one is a good healthy example and for the most part the car is quite drivable until you reach the hill , then it is a definite case of ( life is so depressing !!!!!). But in dirt Khannacross ( witch is what it is set up for ) it is just great , really a lot of fun to drive. A great car to learn in.

Sounds like an add ---- well it is . Six Sprinters is one to many and I may have to sell the black Drift Pig !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a great day driving, double entered with Bob, in a car that went like a heap of shit, and lets the driver drive at full pace!!!! (well almost)

After my second run, Bob and I were chatting about how we tackle some corners. We were talking about the last turn at the bottom of the hill, when Bob said something like "you don't even need to really brake much"........ I obviously misheard parts of that and only heard "you dont even have to brake"......... hahaha

So at the start of my 3rd run, at the start line, I sit there planning my run, improving on the lines and methods previous runs, and all excited because Bob 'said' I don't have to brake coming down the hill
You can guess what happened when I went to make the turn at the bottom of the hill Without braking, and selecting my wider line, I begin to turn in.... Oh my fucking god did I have to hold that turn.... Came off on the grass, but kept my understeered line and came back on the track with out a spin
Can anyone else claim to not have braked coming down there!! hahahahhaa

Me personally, my biggest spectator highlight was Michael Harper drifting the Turbo EB Falcon...... Very impressed with his FULL comitment for the whole lap... As a drifter myself, watching him drive a rwd car, some of the things he did are not easy to pull off, especially in that car, he would be really good at the sport...... We know he has balls, as we have all seen him almost roll and slide fwd shitters nearly almost every round...... I went and had a chat with him afterwards, and he has never really drifted before, but wants to get into it. He mentioned he would like a AE86! (Maybe a new home for the pig bob?)....... I give credit where credit is due, and that guy has talent and balls!......
