Heard a NASTY story ? the other day ------ ACT rego inspectors are going to attend at least one Motorkhana this year to inspect for modified vechiles out side there engineering cert or vehicles with illegal mods. Unfortunitly the source was from within ACT Governmet. So guys be warned if your car is not legal watch out. I was thinking of a bit of plate and sticker swaping ( I would not be the first ) but me thinks that is just asking for a wee problem .

Surely rego inspectors can't touch anything that is inside the gate? Bob you should be fine with the plate and sticker swap as long as you trailer it there

even so Tyrie, It only takes them to get your rego, then send you a letter saying the car must be brought over Dickson for a 'random' check. I know this happens, as it's happened to me before...

realistically you'd only need the plates on the car for scrutineering then they could come off...

My understanding is that they where going to set up somewhere along the road --- probably next to the hillclimb track ( which is also to be targeted some time in the year ) . They are after illegal cars going to and from weather you are a competitor in either event will be of no concern to them. It is all about modified vehicles on the road and if they believe them to be legal or not .

What a load of shit...... Oh well, engineers cert lives in the car and everything matches the pics so should be fine.

Whats the go with entry? Email on their website? How close to entries usually finish??

Who knows if they will get off there arses and do it ? But I think the future of (rego ) modified cars is going to be a rocky road . Looks like there is dirty deeds afoot in NSW at present and the ACT drones usually follow . So long as there is not to much paper work for them ( they like the just say no to every thing approach ).
Next thing you know they will ban stills ( what !!!!!! they are illegal ) Shit when did that happen ??????????????????//

Well, my car stands out like dogs balls, so if this is true, I am pretty much fucked.....

In the last 2 weeks, I have been "pulled over" twice, and they wanted to go over the car. Told them it was engineered, and pulled out my 62 page engineers certificate. One read it for about 2 mins, then said I was right to go. The other, which happened to actually see me 'accused' drifting, (I claim vehicle testing on a quite road), read the CERT for 20 mins!!! We were there for ages, but they were just regular officers, told me my tyres were 'shredded', go straight to its garage and put on roadworthy tyres.
