Thanks mate.
My car was pretty well underdeveloped for the event but the plan was to be part of a great event more so than being outright quick. We are happy with the results and aware of its potential. It has 165kw atw, 1030kg dry which gives it a 6.2 power to weight ratio and Kumho A70's(Hard compound). But more speed will be found in set up and drive time.
The black MR2 has been developed over a longer period of time with plenty of effort with not all that much money. Very little in motorsport terms. The owner passed the car to driving solutions for its final phase of development with the driver who campained the car in WTAC. The driver is one of F3's star performers with a impressive record. Their power to weight is closer to 4.2 carrying 1200kg and close to 250kw atw, Dunlop 03G's and a nicely balanced car. It was great to see their results as they were only a few seconds off the pro level cars.
I did talk with the owner of the White Supra from Tassie. Great guy with a very tidy and quick car. Well done mate if your out there.
Also had a chat with the owners of the Black Supra with the aero package. Again like 99% of people there just another great bunch of people.

Hillclimb, Special stage, short circuit. long circuit. Four layouts, Five rounds over two days.

Winton: 1.37.4/Wakefield: 1.08.1/Eastern Creek: 1.48
My times were 1.49-1.51 which is 6-8 seconds better than testing two weeks before. New tyres and fixing a hole in the intercooler piping did help!
The Black Mr2 times were 1.41-1.42.The Black one managed a 1.39 last week in testing. Very quick car and driver package.
Hopefully I will have my car developed to pick a few seconds by next year.

yea thought it looked familiar!
i was at a open day at wakefield and it was also there...when it was white
this was probably 2 years ago now i think
does it have alot of work done to it?
1:39, awesome time!! I can only hope to get in the 45's on streets next year. That is the Goal!
JZA80 Turbo Time Attack Car - "Gorilla"
JZA80 Turbo Street Car - "Silver Back"
Lexus RX350 F Sport "Kid Hauler"

Not as much as you would think! It can still be road registered as it has all creature comforts.
Weight is 1200kg
The chassis has a few braces and a bolt in cage which attatched to the floor.
The suspension is where the biggest change occoured but still could be(and will be) improved to a higher level. This includes roll centres, spring rates, basic shocks(G4), altered toe link points.
Brakes are G4 with a bleed valve for brake bias
Gearbox and shifter is standard
Diff is KAZZ(I think)
Engine is close to 300kw with a large amount of torque.
So its not too extreme at all.
The other major factor is the driver. F3 Champion amongst many other successes with EC being his home track which he drives many times a week.
I would like to see what he could do in my car...

yea from my memory, on the wakefield day there were 2 other mr2s and they didnt seem to be that quick
but perhaps more development has been done in the 2 years which wouldnt surprise me
yea i know neil mcfayden...awesome driver!
was he a hired gun?
or is the owners mates with him
kinda off topic lol but i know driving solutions does alot of stuff at ec and so might be a link there somewhere
Im not sure on the Wakefield Park day but at a guess, they would have been a few of the guys from the MR2 forums.
Daniel has a strong relationship with the guys at Driving solutions and managed to put together a deal fir Neil to run in his car. Danial simply could not get away from wirk and family commitments to make the two days. Seems to have worked out very well for him as his car is flying and on rails! I had a drive of his car at Wakefield last year. It drives very nicely. I was straight into the 70sec barrier after two laps. Its a very quick car but really need to respect it ,or you will be into the agriculture before you know it.
It infact gained another 50kw and a undisclosed amount of torque since I drove the car which is what was used for WTAC.
A slipping clutch stopped the car from being quicker at WTAC 2010 which is now being addressed.
Im sure it will be developed even more before next year and Daniel will drive if he has the window to compete in WTAC next year.
Back to WTAC
I hear the black RX7 from S.A. has a full CF undertray/difusser fitted and now testing for next year. Add the full CF,700hp STi, more U.S. teams and who knows what else and its addiing up to a bigger event in 2011.
I wonder what will be coming from the Toytoa camp? It would be amazing to see the new V10 Toyota supercar show up and raise some eyebrows..
Or a Supra or ST205 Gp A 4wd with 600hp making the step up to Level 1. Now there''s a thought.
