Forget the 8200rpm redline idea....stock cams aren't worth running past 7500rpm and the lower redline will also be alot friendlier on the engine.

I ran a GT2540 on my GenIII with the larger (0.85ish) a/r and it easily made 212awkw...say near enough to 220rwkw for 2WD on 16psi.

More turbo options to choose from these days, but you really want to run the smallest turbo that will do the job and enjoy the greatly improved bottom end response...especially if it's mostly a street car.

Having seen what a GT28RS does on a 4G i'd say that would be nigh on perfect.

Justin, scuze my ignrance but whats a 4G ?

Maybe 4A ? if so would make an solid 200 kw at the wheels but wouldnt have much below 4 grand i would suspect, obviously different on a 3S is that what you mean ?

I am still trying to get my head around turbos

Yup 4G63 Mitsu engine...a heap of variations so not sure which exact model it was. 2lt turbo though so a good bench mark to compare with a 3S and the 'disco potato' was great in terms of response and top end poke.

I've fitted a GT28RS with .86 rear to a 2nd gen SW20 3S and it is incredibly responsive. Lack of tuning(V500) has limited it's top end to 200kw atw so far though. It made 195kw atw on std ecu.
I suggested the 3071 because Shifty obviously wants some top end if he is considering a GT35. 3071 has the smaller GT30 turbine so is still a good choice for 200-250atw on a 2l.

He should mount it FF Evo style though, just because it looks cool.
