Default 250hp for 1jz 14 PSI too low?

    Hi,

Have been looking at a JZA70 Supra that puts out 250hp with A 3" Exhaust, Cooler, and 14 PSI, tuned with a SAFC. Is this figure a bit too low?

    Thanks.

That is a bit low, should make 280ish with those mods.
Sounds like it has been de-tuned...

Its not crazy low, through an auto, mine made around that on a conservative dyno, on about 13.5 psi.

Is that the pollite way of saying "the dyno was out of callibration"? Or maybe "the opperator didn't know what they were doing/set it up dodgey"?

Some people get a little carried away with Dyno readings. They're designed as a tuning tool, not as a machine to print out a graph to gloat to your mates about No two dyno's will ever read the same. Just go back and ask him to put it in shootout mode if your worried about "big numbers"

Does the car drive smooth? You have the AFR graph from the tune, looks pretty consistent? Car isn't gutless?

Its a polite way of saying that the ramp rate was pretty slow for a 'shootout' style event - like longer than it would take to hit the limiter in top from a standstill
