Really not sure Manny, I keep putting off the electrics in the hope that magic becomes real and I can cast a spell to wire up the car and set up the ECU. If whatever info you get out of the testing helps me later then bonus.

I've got a GE resistor pack somewhere, should be same as the GTE? Let me know when you can come down next, i'll fish out the resistor and a couple of injectors.

Just picked up Matt's 440cc injectors for testing ( +rep) , will has some results by weeks end.

TERRA are the 4AGZE just the 295cc or 315cc units from the 1G?

The ones in the MAP 4AGZE are the brown 315cc ones.

Initial testing checking if the method was Ok.
    Injector used 23250-50020 242cc 13.6 Hi

I suspected the waveform would distort when the pintle bounced off the back of the injector this is show in the second picture, but its not where I expected

The first picture has a period of 1339uS with a clean wave while the second at 1383uS indicated the distortion due to the pintle bouncing?.

1383uS is the period so the fully open time for this injector would be half that 691uS.

The only other problem from I can see it no fuel pressure and this would give a faster open time.

If no one has any objection I’ll test as follows.

    1) Pressurise the system
    2) Check for wave distortion, and take reading at this point . with 4 voltage points

    Almost fully open Fig 1

I can send you a freshly cleaned AE101 MAP 4AGZE injector if you're willing to fully test it, and can send it back undamaged....

Terra, not problem with testing your injectors.
I just need to verifiy the test procces, mentioned before.

A few problems I see with that test procedure,

    1) The opening time posted are most likely correct for release of fuel, when using the peak/hold arrangement the injector need to be fully opened before switching to holding current the injector may close otherwise
    2) Only two Voltage points were tested & the voltage correction posted as linear, but I would say its no-linear & at least 3 voltages tested

    What I can tests
    1) fully open time.
    2) closing time.

    Peak/Hold current can be calculated.

I need a lillte time setup a fuel system for this.

Completed the setup, I used a Knock sensor to try and detect the fully open vibration but for some reason I got a 10Khz ripple , (I think its my switch mode power supply so picking another one up next week).

    Result :
Injector 23250-50020 242cc 13.6 Hi Imp Fuel presure295Kpa in microSeconds
    Injector; test#; flow-start; flow-on; fully open range;

    1 1 869 923 971-1080
    2 1 869 929 1000-1073
    3 1 874 944 1002-1083
    4 1 863 934 1010-1094

once I get the power supply ill test the 440cc injectors

If you can PM me your details, can I send you the GZE injector if you're ready?
Also, will you be testing them at different voltages?

Testing will be for 3 or 4 voltages, what the part number on the injectors

    Awesome! Thanks +rep.

Just to confirm, I take it: "(Off <ma)" means that if the hold current drops below .240/.245 amps the injector will close? And "(On >ma)" means the injector will open above .530/.540 amps?

So 1.0 amp open and .5 hold would be sufficient?

    Yes that’s correct,

Yes that would be sufficient but the open current should be set at 2380mA; this was the Peak currents measured at the Coil Saturation Time, so in the factory setup if the injector was opened for more that 2ms the current would reach about 2.4A.

So I would use 2.3A as peak/open and 0.5A hold,
