depending in the induction of the uz

    n/a = w58
    f/i = r154

there is no "straight swap" that i know of
There is no substitute for PUBIC inches

That question all comes down to opinion really, I've seen plenty of 2jz's with over 500rwhp that have r154's and they seem to be fine, some have as much as 700rwhp. Depends on how you treat the box, Tyre size, how many clutch drops etc,

    I hope this helps

what sort of hp are you chasing? If it's 500hp or less you should be fine.

mate.. why dont you go and look at a 6 speed getrag from the jza80 supra... if your gunna custom fit it yourself then you shouldnt realy have a problem, and the 6 speed getrag is much stronger again..

there used in obviously the supra, but also maserati 3200gt's which are v8 twin turbo..

I would also be looking a the tremec gearboxes as well. There is a large range of ratios and differeing strengths. The R154 is good but getting a bit long in the tooth. Use the 1UZ bellhousing and make an adaptor to the gearbox of choice and then just use a hydraulic throw out bearing.

im looking for bout 400whp n/a and maybe add twin vortech's for 750-800 on 102 im looking to keep it streetble but home on a strip and the track maybe sideways for kicks i looked into the jza80 box and there seems to be 2 different versions of it the v160 and v161 but seems i cant find it over here i'll have to look around a bit more and i think the owners wont be easily convinced to part with them

Skip R154 and go straight to Tremec....my pick for bullet proof is the TKO600 but a T56 6 speed is still decent choice...the TR6060 would be nice once the prices start coming down.

prity sure the T56 box is used in the SS commodores... which are actually a really good gearbox, and from the ones ive seen, already come with a hydrolic throwout bearing, but ud wanna give the transmission tunnel some clearence cos the bleeder is at the top of the bellhousing

what oil do you use in your tremec justen?... the SS manuals recommend dextron 3 ATF fluid but ive always wondered if say 75w80 synthetic would make them feel abit nicer

that is such a whacko sentence im not sure where to begin?

exactly what do want to achieve?? build 500bhp NA engine, and THEN whack twin SC onto it? common, reality check? happy to help with some ideas if youre interested, but i think you might need to tighten your focus a little?

as for the CAD designs, isnt $20 a hell cheap way to avoid hours and hours of measuring and designing? why reinvent the wheel?

    cheers

I just use the ATF as Tremec recommend...i ran ATF in my W58 and in the GTFour GrpA as well.

The shifts are slick but 'mechanical' in feel if that makes sense?
