Almost everything you need to know about wheels, pcd, offset, hub diameter
ok after having some trouble in the past with wheels sizing, pcd's, offset, hub Diameter's and all that gear I decided to make a list of everything I could find on the net and condense it into one easy to use post and Excel spreadsheet.
1,How to measure your PCD (Pitch Circle Diameter)
2, Measuring Offset
3, Choosing the right tire and wheel size
4, Car models PCD, Offset & Hub Diameter list
the spreadsheet contains a list of vahicle makes and models and there associated PCD - Offset - Hub Diameter
and hopefully it will answer a few questions
now I know there have been a few posts in the past about this, but there not very comprehensive compared to this.
*Disclaimer* I take no responsibility for wrong or misleading information, this information has been gathered from the internet from various sources.
How to measure your PCD (Pitch Circle Diameter)
3 STUD Measure the distance X between the centres of 2 holes and multiply by 1.154
4 STUD Measure the distance between the centres of 2 OPPOSITE holes
OR
Measure the distance between the centres of 2 ADJACENT holes and multiply by 1.414
5 STUD
Measure the distance X between the centres of 2 ADJACENT holes and multiply by 1.7012
6 STUD
Measure the distance between the centres of 2 OPPOSITE holes
OR
Measure the distance X between the centres of 2 adjacent holes and multiply by 2
Measuring Offset
Offset is often referred to as ET which stands for EinpressTieffe in German
OFFSET = BACKSPACE - ½(RIM WIDTH)
or
C = B - A
Positive Offset
Negative Offset
Choosing the right tire and wheel size
Matching overall diameters when changing wheel & tyre sizes
is necessary to ensure ride height and gearing don't change
Car models PCD, Offset & Hub Diameter list Be sure to check the different tab's at the bottom left corner of the spreadsheet, as none of list are identical.

Re: Almost everything you need to know about wheels, pcd, offset, hub diameter
To measure offset -
Pull the wheel off and lay it face up on flat ground.
Measure from ground to the hub mounting face (call this A), then flip over and do the same (call this B, make sure this is still to the same mounting face). Add A and B together and divide in half (call this C). The difference between C and A is your offset, If A is more than C the offset is positive if less its negative.
Can be done with tyres on as they will bulge the same each side giving you the same centreline, you need to be pretty accurate with your measuring though.
